As Christmas grows ever nearer and the leaves of the trees fall in slow order we find ourselves drawn into the season of Advent. This season is one that shows us how to live and walk in joyful, somber, holy expectancy; a melodic waiting for the coming of the Christ child. For the next four weeks we will hear about an expectant creation and its groaning for the redemptive nature of Jesus and his fulfillment of the scriptures. Each week will play a role in piecing together the fullness of the Kingdom Narrative that reveals to us God’s promise, plan, intention, and love. All of this culminating in a wondrous birth that took place on a cold night in a dirty stable two-thousand years ago. For, unto us, a child is born.
